D’ORNANO PARTNERS has advised LDC, the French leader of the poultry market and one of Europe’s biggest poultry companies, employing more than 19,000 people, on the acquisition of the majority shareholding in the Hungarian Tranzit Group.

Family run business since 1990, Tranzit Group is one of the main waterfowl product companies in Hungary, being engaged in all aspects of the waterfowl business (breeding, hatching, preparing feed meal, raising, slaughtering, processing and sales).

This transaction, subject to a merger clearance by the German competition authority, is an important step forward in the internationalization of LDC, considering Hungary as the entry point on the Central and Eastern European poultry market.

The transaction encompasses a sale of shares and quota and the creation of a joint venture company, ensuring the long-term cooperation between LDC and Tranzit Group.

The M&A team of D’ORNANO PARTNERS, led by Managing Partner François d’Ornano and composed by team leaders Anna-Mária Veres and Amaury Chautard of the Budapest and Paris offices, is acting as LDC’s legal advisor for this complex transaction.
